An intensive 2-hour training session for members of the community

The Girls in Tech Initiative successfully organized a two-hour intensive training session aimed at equipping members of the community with practical digital skills. The original plan was to deliver a crash course covering multiple learning tracks within the limited timeframe. However, as the session progressed, it became evident that effective learning required deeper engagement and focus. As a result, the facilitators made a strategic decision to concentrate on one course during the session, while scheduling the remaining two courses to be delivered over the following two weeks to ensure quality learning outcomes.

The training itself was highly engaging and interactive. Participants were encouraged to actively contribute by taking turns to explain concepts in their own words, fostering confidence, collaboration, and deeper understanding. This participatory approach not only kept the class dynamic but also allowed facilitators to assess comprehension in real time and provide immediate clarification where necessary. Despite the intensity of the session, the learners remained enthusiastic and fully involved throughout.

At the conclusion of the training, assignments were issued to evaluate the participants’ understanding and reinforce the concepts taught. These tasks were designed to challenge their thinking and encourage independent application of newly acquired knowledge. Overall, the session was impactful and rewarding, marking a strong step forward in the initiative’s mission to empower girls through technology. It was truly a great and fulfilling learning experience for both the facilitators and participants.
