In celebration of International Women’s Day, the Girls in Tech Initiative hosted a vibrant Meet and Greet event on March 8, 2026, bringing together members of the community for an engaging session focused on learning, networking, and empowerment in the technology space.
The event featured insightful sessions facilitated by Ms. Teresa Briseimo and Ms. Jennifer Gbonhinbor, who shared practical tips on building strong professional relationships and effectively managing clients. They also spoke on the power of negotiation, encouraging women to confidently communicate their value in the workspace. In addition, the facilitators emphasized the growing importance of technology skills in today’s world, urging participants to continuously develop relevant digital and tech competencies.

During the networking segment, community members had the opportunity to introduce themselves, share what they currently do, and discuss the tech skills they already practice as well as new skills they hope to acquire. This created a supportive environment for collaboration, idea sharing, and professional growth.
The event also featured fun and engaging activities, including a word search game where participants were divided into two groups, fostering teamwork and friendly competition. Members also exchanged gifts, adding a warm and celebratory touch to the gathering.
Overall, the Girls in Tech Initiative Meet and Greet was insightful, engaging, and entertaining, providing a meaningful platform for women to connect, learn, and celebrate the spirit of International Women’s Day while strengthening their presence in the technology community.
