The Girls in Tech Initiative Bayelsa Team had the honor of attending the Impact Leaders Acceleration Masterclass, organized by the Transform International Leadership Institute.
This unique learning experience was designed for NGOs, equipping them with practical tools, strategies, and frameworks to amplify social impact, build resilient organizations, and strengthen leadership. The Masterclass featured three powerful sessions facilitated by seasoned experts:
1. Sustainable Initiatives – The Place of Value-Driven Leadership
Led by Mr. Augustine Burutolu, this session emphasized that true sustainability in nonprofits begins with value-driven leadership. We learned how clarity of purpose, integrity, and community-focused decision-making are central to building initiatives that last. A key takeaway: when leadership is anchored on values, impact becomes sustainable and far-reaching.
2. Turning Numbers into Narratives
Delivered by Mr. Iderikumo Okara, this session revealed the power of data storytelling. Beyond collecting figures, NGOs must translate numbers into compelling narratives that resonate with stakeholders, partners, and beneficiaries. We were reminded that impact is not just measured — it must be communicated in ways that inspire trust, attract support, and mobilize action.
3. The Business of Nonprofits
Facilitated by Mr. Harry Porbeni, this session reframed how NGOs should think about operations and sustainability. Nonprofits, while mission-driven, must also adopt business principles — from strategic planning and financial discipline to innovation and scalability. We left with the insight that a nonprofit that thinks like a business is better positioned to create long-term impact.
