Bayelsa, Nigeria — What began as a casual office conversation with a corps member quickly evolved into a powerful outreach. When it was mentioned that her Community Development Service (CDS) group was ICT-focused, the Girls in Tech Initiative Bayelsa seized the opportunity to share the importance of technology and life after NYSC with the group.
The session, hosted at Olotu Square, exceeded expectations with over 70 corps members in attendance. Led by the Founder of Girls in Tech Initiative Bayelsa and supported by her dynamic team, the program featured engaging discussions on how technology can shape careers, the opportunities that await after service, and why acquiring a tech skill is no longer optional but essential.
The interactive Q&A session sparked lively conversations, addressing participants’ fears, curiosities, and aspirations while igniting moments of clarity and excitement. Guest speaker Bokoyeibo Preye Amadi also inspired the corps members by sharing her personal journey into the tech industry.

Special recognition goes to team members, including Vivian Livingstone Kiani, Stella Obua, who played a vital role in making the event a success. Their contributions underscored the Initiative’s commitment to creating impactful, deliberate, and transformative experiences for young people.
Speaking after the event, the Founder emphasized: “Impacting lives differently and deliberately will always be a thrill to me. This was more than a talk; it was purpose in action.”
The Girls in Tech Initiative remains dedicated to equipping young people, especially women, with the skills and confidence to thrive in the digital world.
